I’m at war with both marketing and aging.
Midlife is tough. Marketing is deceptive. I’m ready to fight.
Society tells us to embrace getting older, that we shouldn’t feel bad about it. We’re bombarded with the idea that ‘anti-aging’ is a term we should abandon because it creates unrealistic expectations, perpetuating the notion that we can reverse time.
Well, guess what? I do feel bad about getting older. I don’t want thinning hair, sagging skin, or gray hair. And more importantly, I refuse to feel guilty for not wanting those things. No matter what, we’re always made to feel bad—women have been carrying the weight of guilt since the dawn of time.
But I won’t let anyone shame me for wanting to look my best by my standards. I’m not going to fade quietly into midlife. I also refuse to fall for marketing tricks and fancy packaging. The reality? Most of the "science" behind beauty products is biased, often funded by the companies selling them. For example, the collagen molecule is too large to penetrate the top layer of your skin—yet it’s marketed as a miracle solution in skin care.
I love digging into the research and finding the best products without wasting money. My friends often ask for my recommendations, and from that, this blog was born. I’m no scientist, and I didn’t study this in college. I’m also not swayed by any brand; no one is paying me or offering me discounts. This blog is my arsenal—my tools for the battle against time.
