Skincare
When it comes to improving skin health, the only ingredients with solid scientific backing are retinol and vitamin C. Everything else often falls under the category of questionable marketing claims.
To make informed choices, I use SkinSort to compare products before I buy. Remembering that skincare product ingredients are listed in order of concentration is essential. This means that the ingredient with the highest percentage appears first, followed by others in decreasing order, until you reach 1%. The order is not strictly followed once the concentration is at or below 1%.
This knowledge is crucial when examining a product’s main ingredients. If a key ingredient is listed fourth or twelfth, it indicates a lower concentration, which may affect its effectiveness.
Skincare Application Order
For optimal absorption, apply skincare products from thinnest to thickest, typically starting with liquids and gels before moving on to creams.
