Mirconeedling
I microneedle my face every four to six weeks using the M8 Ultima Pro Pen from Dr. Pen, paired with a 16-needle cartridge.
In my experience, this at-home treatment is by far the most effective—nothing else compares. While it might sound intimidating, it's actually straightforward and safe when done correctly. Here's how I do it:
First, I thoroughly cleanse my face and wipe it down with alcohol.
Next, I apply a 5% lidocaine numbing cream all over my face, letting it sit for 10-15 minutes before rinsing it off. I use the Ebanel 5% Lidocaine Cream, which works really well for numbing.
Once my skin is prepped, I apply a layer of hyaluronic acid serum to provide slip—never microneedle on dry skin. I make sure to only apply the serum to the section of my face I'm working on at that moment, as it can dry out before I’m able to needling it. This ensures the serum stays active and provides enough slip for smooth, effective treatment. I use Hyaluronic Acid Serum for this step.
I then use the pen to go over each area of my face, working in sections and making sure to treat each area three times. The pen allows for adjustable depth, which I customize based on the area I'm treating. For the delicate skin under my eyes, I set it to .25mm. On my forehead, I use .50mm, and for the rest of my face, I go deeper at 1.50mm.
I usually experience slight bleeding, and my face will appear red, but the redness subsides within an hour. Afterward, I notice my skin feeling tighter, with smaller pores and less noticeable wrinkles.
