Ultherapy
Every six weeks, I microneedle my temples and hairline.
My Treatment Overview
I’ve had one Ultherapy treatment at a cost of $2,500.00. I highly recommend this treatment.
What is Ultherapy?
Ultherapy is a non-invasive cosmetic procedure designed to lift and tighten skin on the face, neck, chin, and brow, as well as reduce lines and wrinkles on the décolletage. Using micro-focused ultrasound energy, it reaches deep layers of the skin to stimulate the body’s natural collagen and elastin production.
Most people choose to treat the lower face, but you can opt to have the upper face done—or both areas at once if your budget allows. It’s an ideal option for those experiencing mild skin laxity or loss of elasticity.
How Ultherapy Works
Ultherapy harnesses ultrasound technology to stimulate collagen production deep within the skin. This new collagen formation lifts and tightens the skin over time, offering a more youthful appearance without surgery.
Clinical Studies & FDA Approval
Ultherapy’s safety and effectiveness have been supported by multiple clinical studies and over one million treatments worldwide. The FDA has cleared Ultherapy for use on the neck, under the chin, and brow, as well as to reduce lines and wrinkles on the chest.
My Personal Experience with Ultherapy
For me, the treatment was fairly comfortable; I felt a bit of warmth and tingling on my face but nothing beyond that. I didn’t experience any swelling, redness, or discomfort afterward. Many people describe Ultherapy as a non-surgical alternative to a facelift. While that might be a bit of an overstatement, I do believe it helped with sagging in my lower face.
I had Ultherapy on April 14, and by June 1, I could see a noticeable difference in my before-and-after photos. Full disclosure: I had lip filler, chin filler, and marionette line filler as well, but these don’t affect facial sagging, so I credit Ultherapy with the improvement in skin firmness.
Treatment Details
The number of “lines” of treatment varies based on the surface area being treated, typically around 400 to 750 lines for the face, neck, and jowls combined. I suggest asking your provider how many lines they plan to do and then checking the total afterward. Keeping this number in your notes allows for easy comparison with future sessions. I forgot to do this and regret it. My dermatologist (whom I love!) recommends Ultherapy every six months. While I’ve only had one treatment so far, I’m happy with the results and look forward to my next session. It is one of the few treatments that while expensive felt worth it.
